Ana Sofia of the Root Chang Clan


	Little Ana Sofia Born on Saturday, January 14, 2006 Illona and I would like to thank all of you who have called and left us messages with all of your best whishes and congratulatory messages we're sorry we haven't been able to announce it ourselves to most of you but it's been a busy couple of days for us three. Baby Ana Sofia was born at home and both baby and mom are doing great we've been busy bonding with her since our first second together and can't wait to update this website with more information as soon as we can. 	Home Birth We have chosen to do a water birth at home, where two wonderful midwives and Christina will support us. If all goes well after baby is born in the tub Momma and Pappa and baby will be nestled snuggly into bed having their first rest together, a much deserved rest for all until baby wakes for breastfeeding. If things progress that we need to be in the expert care of the medical field, we will be at UCSF. Which is a fabulous hospital with an incredible birthing center. All in all we will be in good hands.

	Baby Shower Party Illona had a wonderful baby shower, hosted by the fabulous Auntie to be Monica and the ever beautiful and gracious aunts and cousins at Tia Branca's house. The food was to die for, especially the desserts, and the presents where abundant. The guest were many, this seems to be a recurrent theme with this family, hmm, lots of family and friends! And the cake was divine, of course anything well made and chocolate. Yum. If this is at all a sign of things to come then this will be one very well celebrated and loved child. Illona's Expressive Arts friends as well as Paulo's co-workers organized additional baby shower parties and the friendship and love expressed by both circles of friends and co-workers was immense both Paulo and I appreciated all their friendship and generosity. Thank you all so much.
	Wishes and Thoughts The good wishes and thoughts for baby have been many. One that a co-worker of Illona's wrote speaks so closely to what Illona hope for the birth, her baby and her family.
	Blessing for Illona May your contractions be productive May your labor be swift May your baby be healthy and strong May you be free from fear May you be one with your body May you be held May you feel the support of all the women who've ever given birth, and all the babies who've ever been born. May Paulo have new respect for you forever more May you revel in your animal body May Paulo's support and tenderness toward you through out this time strengthen your bond to him forever more. May you have peace and pleasure in the space between contractions May you have space for awe May you have space for irreverent laughter May a miracle take place.
